Maintenance Mechanic C

Responsible for making basic repairs and maintenance of production machinery and mechanical equipment. Trouble shoot; learn the functions and applicable uses of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems used in the manufacturing departments by performing the following duties.

Other duties may be assigned.

• Makes basic mechanical or electrical adjustments and repairs to production equipment.
• Inspects equipment for proper lubrication and performs general preventative maintenance duties. Involved in learning MP#2 maintenance schedule requirements.
• May assist higher-level mechanics in diagnosing equipment-operating problems and making more difficult repairs, part replacements, and adjustments. Understands the need for documenting changes and adjustments in the logbooks.
• Evaluates equipment problem and refers complex situations to supervisor and higher-level mechanics.
• Operates variety of hand and power tools. Practices continued learning and seeks higher levels of knowledge and understanding.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Learns and applies Lock Out and Tag Out procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one year experience in journey-level equipment maintenance preferred

Basic knowledge of electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Journeyman in Equipment Maintenance preferred
